<\/p>\nMy family always looks forward to snowshoeing in Saskatoon. When we first got our snowshoes, I was concerned we wouldn’t keep going year after year, but I’m happy to say we are in love with snowshoeing. It allows us to explore different areas and enjoy the beautiful winters in the city of bridges. We have not tried as many trails as possible, but we plan to visit them all. If you are out making some tracks, make sure you aren’t in the designated cross-country skiing sections. If you and your family love snowshoeing, check out the list of places below.<\/p>\n

If you’re in the southwest end of Saskatoon, grab your snowshoes and head to Holiday Park Golf Course<\/a> on Ave. U South! There are plenty of ski tracks but you can head away from those trails and enjoy the view while you snowshoe.<\/p>\n The best part about snowshoeing at Cranberry Flats<\/a> is you can bring your pooch along for some exercise. (Leashed of course!) You can pick your trail and explore the beautiful winter wonderland. My son and I love this spot because there are so many options off trail and off to explore.<\/p>\n When you visit Pike Lake, you can skate, feed the chickadees and snowshoe! You can also rent snowshoes while you are there if you don’t have your own. Make sure to check for tours!<\/p>\n There are a lot of amazing trails you can try out at Diefenbaker Park with your family!<\/p>\n Meewasin Northeast Swale is a perfect spot to get out the snowshoes and explore in winter. You can also watch for new birds and learn more about the area.<\/p>\n We haven’t tried this one out yet but we have heard that Hepburn is a great place to snowshoe!<\/p>\n In the summer, they have mountain bike trails but in the winter you can ski and snowshoe. They have 25 snowshoeing trails. It’s easy to get to: take Highway 16 (Yellowhead) to Langham. Head North on Park Avenue\/Range Road 3074 for 4km, turn left onto Township Road 395, Signs for River Ridge Trails, and follow to the end (1.5km). The entrance to the parking is on the left.<\/p>\n Wanuskewin is a wonderful place to go snowshoeing! It’s beautiful and there are many different trails to choose from! And it ends with a fantastic playground.
