Inspired by the international experiences of Cirque Kalabanté founder Yamoussa Bangoura, “Afrique en Cirque” is a dream that originated on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. Witness this show’s gravity-defying moves, including amazing acrobatics and dizzying human pyramids. Meanwhile, you also will be transfixed by its music, including the contemporary sounds of Afro-Jazz, as well as percussion and the Kora, a West African stringed instrument. In addition, the sets and costumes pay homage to the Guinean diaspora as a celebration of passion, skill, and the unyielding spirit of African creativity.

Established in 2007, Montréal’s Cirque Kalabanté brings the vibrant tapestry of African arts alive to audiences across the world! Founded by the Guinean multidisciplinary artist Yamoussa Bangoura, this multidisciplinary company has become an established international show production company and circus school. Furthermore, the troupe passionately shares the richness of African culture through traditional dance, circus arts, and West African music.
