Based on the much-loved picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, brace yourself for an outrageous stage play as you follow the Gruffalo’s Child on her forest adventure in this enchanting adaptation, presented by Brampton on Stage at The Rose! In it, the Gruffalo’s Child ignores her father’s warnings one wild and windy night and tiptoes out into the deep dark wood in search of the Big Bad Mouse. (He doesn’t really exist, right?!)
This stage production features the unique physical story theatre style that Tall Stories is known for worldwide, along with plenty of humour and music. With visual style, movement and comedy, the theatre company uses puppetry to show the size of the Gruffalo as compared to his child. Then, as the Gruffulo’s Child follows snowy tracks and encounters mysterious creatures, these techniques illustrate the scary mouse that the Gruffalo’s Child thinks she has seen.
