Established in 1978, the Goh Ballet Academy has gained an international reputation through its high-caliber ballet training and performances. Summer Programs Bayview

Children’s Weekly Summer Dance Camps

Week-Long Camps — July 4-August 26 (Ages 3-6)
Nurture your child’s creativity and love for dance with Goh Ballet’s summer workshops designed for budding dancers aged 3-6. Themed weekly workshops held for boys and girls incorporate familiar characters, stories, music, as well as arts and crafts sessions to encourage self-expression and inspire the imagination. These summer workshops develop confidence and kindle creativity. All Children’s Summer Dance Camps run Monday-Friday, 9:00am-12:00pm.

Creative Dance

Once-Weekly Class — July 4-30, 2022 (Ages 3 & 4)
Blossoming little dancers explore the magic of dance while developing their understanding of basic ballet technique. Classes focus on simple movements to help improve flexibility, balance and coordination. In addition to being a great introduction to the world of ballet, during these energetic classes students also develop a sense of rhythm and musicality. Furthermore, teachers encourage the students to use their imagination and show creativity. Classes take place once per week, making this program perfect for families whose busy schedules cannot accommodate a week-long workshop!

Star Level 1 & 2 Summer Ballet

Twice-Weekly Class — July 4-30, 2022 (Star Level 1: Ages 5-7, Star Level 2: Ages 8-10)
Over the course of this four week program, students focus on refining the fundamentals of their ballet technique, expanding their dance vocabulary as well as developing an understanding of musicality and performance interpretation. Students learn storytelling through mime, whilst developing their balance, coordination and focus. Jazz classes also encourage versatility and expressiveness. The Star Level ballet programs are tailor-made for students looking for a program which meets less frequently, but who wish to keep up their dancing over the summer. Star Level 1 and Level 2 classes run twice per week between July 4-30, 2022. Be sure to include ballet, music and performance as a part of your child’s summer activities as these classes ignite imagination and build self-confidence.

Senior & Junior Summer Intensives

Four-Week Intensive — July 4-30, 2022
Goh Ballet’s Summer Intensives for Senior and Junior level students offer comprehensive educational programs  that help dancers challenge themselves to strive for excellence while learning technique as well as new choreographic repertoire.

During the four-week summer program, student assessment takes place for Goh Ballet’s annual programs, including the Junior School and Senior Pre-Professional Division. Scholarships are available for both national students. Goh Ballet also fosters talent and supports families needing financial assistance.

Junior Summer Intensive (Ages 7-14)
The Junior Summer Intensive is a unique program designed to accelerate technical ability and performance skills. Classes with guest artists and annual faculty members run five days per week, tailored to elevate artistic understanding. Also included in the curriculum are National Dances, Stretch & Body Conditioning as well as Musical Theatre which contributes towards supporting students with a well-balanced outlook into the world of dance! The culmination of progress and achievements is presented to friends and family during the final week.

Senior Summer Intensive
Goh Ballet’s Senior Summer Intensive is specially designed for students focused on exploring a professional career in dance. Participants are instructed and mentored by some of the most distinguished annual faculty members, as well as prominent guest instructors. Training six days a week this intensive features a curriculum that includes Classical Ballet, Musical Theatre, Mime/Dance Acting, Pas de Deux, Repertoire, Contemporary, Men’s Work, Pilates and Health and Well-being. Programs are structured to nurture each student’s individuality to best prepare them for their future careers. Through dedicated instructions that propel progress, participants reach new artistic heights and gain invaluable mentorship to aid career development.

Competition Variations & Choreographic Explorations Workshop

Week-Long Workshop — August 15-20, 2022 (Ages 7-15+)
For the first time, during this exclusive week-long workshop, students expand on their technical and artistic development to explore diverse approaches to the creative process. This six-day workshop guides students through two competition variations and two choreographic creations which enable tremendous insight on professional etiquette and expectations.

For the Choreographic Explorations portion, the focus is on learning structural themes and physical codes through phrasing from a choreographer. Featuring daily classes in ballet and contemporary, students create and gain an added layer of physical and emotional personification. Over the course of the week, participants embrace their creativity which allow for artistic advantages, attaining a better grasp of the competition and choreographic process.

Goh Get Ready: Jump Start to the New School Year & Stay Ahead

Week-Long Workshop — August 22-27, 2022 (Ages 7-15+)
Prepare to get back to ballet for the new school year during this new pre-season workshop designed to reinvigorate students’ love of dance! Students refresh their knowledge of vocabulary, brush up on technique and execution and get back in to shape before the beginning of the new term. Then, they are ready to challenge themselves and push personal boundaries in the studio.

Through classes in ballet, technical development, contemporary, yoga, and cardio with stretch and strengthening, students are encouraged to reconnect with their artistry and musicality as well as rebuild strength, stamina and improve flexibility. Working with Goh Ballet’s esteemed faculty, don’t miss this opportunity to prepare for success in September and give yourself a head start on your training for the new dance year. Full-day or half-day options are available, dependent on level.

Star Level & Goh Get Ready
For students who would prefer a less intensive refresher to dance, the Star Ballet (Ages 6-8) and Goh Get Ready programs (9+) meet for classes three times a week between August 22-27, 2022. Classwork focuses on a review of ballet steps and vocabulary, coupled with pilates and conditioning or jazz stretch to make sure students are prepared to put their best foot forward when they get back into the studio in September!
