Give your little star a chance to shine at Great Big Theatre Company (GBTC), offering an exciting March Break Camp program in locations across the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario! GBTC’s day camp brings kids together through improvisation, theatre games, stagecraft and performance.

GBTC’s enthusiastic staff members create a supportive and non-competitive environment in which every child can participate fully and equally. Kids develop skills and confidence while engaging in fun and creative games that explore their vocal, physical and emotional potential. Simultaneously, the kids work together to perform an end-of-week presentation for an audience of parents, friends and relatives. Plus, the camper-to-staff ratio is small so that each child has an opportunity to shine!

Why Drama?

Drama and theatre training develops so many skills in young people, and many that you might not realize. Your child will likely discover talents they never knew were inside them! Indeed, all kids can benefit from drama and acting experience, whether intending to eventually “trod the boards” as a career or just for the joy of it.

GBTC March Break Theatre Camp (Ages 6-14)

Great Big Theatre Company provides a rewarding March Break Camp program to stimulate and challenge campers of all age levels. The schedule is jam-packed with fun activities, such as plays, mime, improvisation, theatre games, musical theatre, work with simple sets and costumes, and an end-of-week public performance. Activities include collaborative and engaging drama games, improvisations, art projects, plays and scenes, music, movement activities and even dance parties! Campers develop skills and confidence while engaging in fun and creative games that explore their vocal, physical and emotional potential.

Campers work together both within their age groups and across age levels. They work toward an end-of-week presentation performed on Friday afternoons for an audience of parents, friends and relatives. To encourage equal participation by all, each age group does its part to develop a sense of teamwork and cooperation. The kids create sets, and costumes and props are kept simple. Throughout the week, new elements of the final performance are created, polished and fit into place. The final performance involves more than the plays, including at least one musical number, with group vocals and simple choreography.

Registration: $305.00 per week
Extended hours are available at an additional cost of $ 8.00 per hour, per camper, per day.
