Get ready for a summer packed with hands-on science adventures at Ontario Science Centre Experiences! In addition to exciting pop-ups and events across the province, families can dive into interactive science fun all summer long at two ongoing locations, downtown at Harbourfront Centre and at CF Sherway Gardens, on the border of Etobicoke and Mississauga.
The Harbourfront Centre location features the ever-popular KidSpark learn-through-play experience for children ages 10 and under. At CF Sherway Gardens, two brand new exhibitions are launching just in time for summer plus new programming at each location, including the popular Kids’ Night Out at Sherway.
KidSpark at Harbourfront Centre
Ontario Science Centre brings its popular KidSpark play space to Harbourfront Centre, where families can rediscover their favourite learn-through-play activities. Designed for children ages 10 and under, this interactive space also features some fun new surprises! Kids can care for a stuffed animal at the pretend vet clinic, hop into a boat for a fishing adventure, shop for healthy foods at the play supermarket, and so much more.
The reimagined KidSpark in a new location is an immersive space that encourages hands-on exploration, discovery, and playful learning. From building and experimenting to imagining and discovering, KidSpark introduces even the youngest visitors to the exciting world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Feel free to let your kids loose in KidSpark to let them explore, imagine and learn through play in three exciting zones:
- Town & Country — In this kid-favourite area, curious little ones fill up mini shopping carts at the pint-sized supermarket. Plus, they can learn about engineering, mechanics, and building in the construction area!
- The Health Hub — Does your child want to be a doctor or veterinarian when they grow up? Here, they can role-play as a first responder, go to work at a pretend doctor’s office to review x-rays and examine a model skeleton, and visit a pretend vet clinic to care for a stuffed animal.
- The Pond — In this nature-focused area, kids can imagine life outdoors as they balance on a log in the forest, go on a pretend fishing trip (don’t forget to grab a life jacket first!) and cozy up for storytime in the Book Nook.
Two New Exhibitions at CF Sherway Gardens!
Just in time for summer, the Ontario Science Centre Experiences are launching two new interactive exhibitions that bring the outdoors in!
For signature Science Centre experiences, kids can play, explore and experiment for hours in the Innovation Station and Imagination Playground. In this space, kids of all ages can innovate and design using a variety of materials. What’s more, opening on June 27, check out these brand new experiences:
- Survival: The Exhibition — Get ready for a thrilling adventure! Become the ultimate survival expert as you investigate and problem-solve, then build, play and climb your way through this interactive exhibition. (This Exhibition is created and produced by Imagine Exhibitions Inc.)
- Earth Matters — Are you fascinated by the wonders of the natural world? This inspiring exhibition, takes you on a journey to learn how everything in nature is connected. Furthermore, young learners can discover how making small actions can make a big difference for our planet. (This exhibition is created by Scitech Discovery Centre, Perth, Australia and produced by Imagine Exhibitions Inc.)
