Whether at home or in school, the Art Gallery of Ontario has virtual educational programs this winter to get kids involved in art, music and storytelling.<\/p>\n

Family Programs<\/h3>\n

Songs and stories are an important part of artful play this winter at the AGO. Family Programs are FREE and open to parents, children and caregivers of all ages.<\/p>\n

Family Fireside Chat<\/a> –\u00a0Sunday 2:00pm on January 16, February 20 and March 20<\/strong><\/p>\n

The AGO partners with Story Planet for a free fun family experience, mixing story-making and play time inspired by works from the AGO Collection. Each 45-minute session live-streams on Zoom from the Dr. Mariano Elia Hands-On Centre. Click here<\/a>\u00a0for more details and to register.<\/p>\n

Mohawk Language Nursery Songs <\/a>– Tuesday 11:00am on March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29<\/strong><\/p>\n

Indigenous Early Childhood Educator Miss Kristi Talbot presents classic nursery rhymes and children\u2019s songs in the Mohawk language. Parents, guardians and educators can also participate. Click here<\/a>\u00a0for more details and to register.<\/p>\n

Youth Programs<\/h3>\n

In addition to providing free admission to all visitors aged 25 and under, the AGO creates dynamic programming by and for youth.<\/p>\n

Inner Space<\/a> – Starting January 26<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is an original series of videos featuring a different artist each month on the AGO website<\/a>. In each episode, the artist provides an intimate look at their studio and practice.<\/p>\n

Ink on a Pin: Writing Workshop With Fan Wu<\/a><\/strong> – Wednesday 4:00 pm on February 23, March 2 and 9<\/strong><\/p>\n

Toronto-based writer Fan Wu presents a series of free writing workshops for youth, inspired by the AGO’s ongoing exhibition “Matthew Wong: Blue View”. Click\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0to register for these free Zoom workshops.<\/p>\n

Virtual School Programs<\/h3>\n

The school programs live-streams every Monday to Friday on Zoom, and is FREE for parents, guardians, students and teachers.<\/p>\n

There are three versions of each conversation offered daily: one tailored for students in JK to Grade 3, Grades 4 to 8, and Grades 9 to 12. Plus, there is a small creative exercise in each class, so be prepared with pencils, pens or crayons and paper on-hand.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the winter school program welcomes special guest educators from the\u00a0Canadian Opera Company, The National Ballet of Canada, three Toronto History Museums\u00a0(Montgomery\u2019s Inn, Fort York and Mackenzie House) and the\u00a0Toronto Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n
