Bard on the Beach is one of Canada’s largest not-for-profit, professional Shakespeare Festivals. Presented in a magnificent setting on the waterfront in Vancouver’s Vanier Park, the Festival offers Shakespeare plays, related dramas, and several special events in two performance tents from June through September.
The plays for 2025 are:
Much Ado About Nothing
The Two Gentlemen of Verona
The Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again]
The Dark Lady
Family Days: Expose your kids to Shakespeare early and they’ll be hooked for life. Two Family Days (2pm performances) are designated for the 2025 season: July 13 and August 17. There is even family-package pricing available, you just need to call the Bard Box Office at 604-737-0625. The family-friendly productions for the 2025 season are: Much Ado About Nothing and The Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again]
Family Days are also Relaxed Performances, where Bard on the Beach welcomes people to the theatre who may enjoy a more casual environment. During these performances, there is an open and encouraging attitude towards audience members moving, making noise, and exiting/entering the auditorium freely. Relaxed Performances also offer a good introductory experience if you’re attending Bard for the first time!
