Do you have a child or youth chomping at the bit to get on their computer and game or code? Give them a summer full of learning, social interaction, and time spent doing what they love at Byte Camp!

Celebrating its 20th year as a charity organization, Byte Camp is one of BC’s BEST youth-focused technology programs. While parents often complain about their child’s screen time, Byte Camp aims to give children and youth the skills to make them productive and creative users of technology so they are prepared for a changing world. Say goodbye to hours spent mindlessly gaming by themselves– at Byte Camp, students will engage in structured and focused instruction to learn fundamental skills that will culminate in a take-home media project at the end of the camp. With over 35,000 participants throughout the years, Byte Camp is one of the busiest and most well-respected camps for teaching and learning technology skills.

Byte Camp offers a plethora of exciting technology-focused camps that kids (and parents) love, including Coding, Graphic Design, 3D Modelling, Music and Video Production, Editing, App Development, and Animation. Each camp incorporates carefully planned lessons to ensure students are increasing their digital literacy skills alongside their creativity and problem-solving skills. Plus, a *brand new* Foundations in AI camp is available this summer to provide students with the fundamentals of AI production and how to utilize AI tools.  As every parent knows, a well-balanced day that includes some time off-screen is important, too. Byte Camp believes that as well, and incorporates plenty of outdoor game breaks where kids will interact, socialize, and work together to have fun and complete challenges.  Byte Camps are for 9-12-year-olds and 11-14-year-olds in 52 locations around Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island. They run weekly from Monday-Friday, 9 am-4 pm.

But wait, do you have a youth in your household who just can’t get enough of coding and computer programming? Byte Camp has a special option for kids who eat, breathe, and sleep technology. Byte Camp U is a special, two-week overnight camp for 13-17-year-olds that focuses on Engineering and Game Development. This program is offered at select locations in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island.
