Many people of all ages love the thrill of defying gravity — but when it comes to rock climbing, kids are the most natural and enthusiastic group. Perhaps it’s their burning desire to be Spiderman? Whatever the reason, the folks at Cliffhanger Climbing Gym are happy to help your little ones scale their walls! Many of the staff members at Cliffhanger are parents, too, so they know how important it is to keep children active during Spring Break.
Over the course of Cliffhanger’s week-long Spring Break Camp, kids aged 9 to 17 years (9 is the minimum age) will hone climbing skills and become hooked on reaching the next finger-grab or toe-hold. Instructors will cover climbing safety, equipment use, belaying (technical rope work), knot-tying, stretching, and climbing movement techniques.
The team at Cliffhanger has been sharing their passion for physical and mental wellness since 1993. Their facility boasts over 15,000 square feet of climbing terrain with professional route-setting, 53 top ropes, lead climbing, crack climbing, and a separate level for bouldering (climbing without ropes).
Children and youth who attend the Spring Break Camp at Cliffhanger should wear comfortable clothes, pack a healthy lunch, and bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. Click here for more information and to register online.
