What do the Easter Bunny and miners have in common? One leaves treasures behind and one searches for treasures deep within Britannia Mine! Head to Britannia Mine Museum this Easter to see was life was like when the mine was in full swing.

For the miners who worked at Britannia Mine during its heyday, every day was like an Easter egg hunt as they mined for copper.  At this family-friendly Easter eggs-travaganza from March 29th- April 1st, kids and adults alike will learn about the tools used in mining, the treasures found inside the mine, and the incredible areas of the old mine that have been preserved for visitors to experience.

Step back in time as you don a hard hat and journey into the side of the mountain on the Underground train for a special seasonal underground tour. Engaging interpreters will explain the machinery used and what the experience of being in the mine was like for the miners. Admission to the annual Easter Celebration also includes access to the internationally acclaimed BOOM! experience where visitors will experience the sights and sounds of Mill No. 3 with a fully immersive show.

After your guided experience, complete a self-led scavenger hunt using mineral clues to help you on your way and earn a special geological prize if you find them all! Explore your way through the Britannia Mine Museum and try your hand at gold panning in the Gold Panning Pavilion, learn about the history of Britannia Mine in The Britannia Mine Story, explore what life was like for miners in the Beaty Lundin Visitor Centre, and learn how and why copper changes colour in the Terra Lab from 11am-3pm during Easter weekend.

With so many exciting areas to explore, make sure you fuel up at the Chatterbox Cafe and snap a picture in front of the giant haul truck, standing 20 ft tall and weighing over 800, 000 lbs! Easter at Britannia Mine Museum is packed full of family fun! Book your Easter tickets here.
