Observing the Universe
January 23 @ 9:45 am - 4:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 9:45 am on Sunday and Saturday, repeating until January 24, 2021

Observing the Universe:
How do astronomers learn about stars, galaxies, and the universe from so far away? Head to the MacMillan Space Centre on January 23rd or 24th and learn about the tools they use, and what different types of light reveal to us about some of the mysteries of the universe.
During your 60 minute visit you will have 30 minutes to explore the exhibits in the Cosmic Courtyard Gallery and learn about a fun craft to make at home. The other 30 minutes will be spent in the Observatory with a tour of the ½ metre Cassegrain telescope and a 15 minute presentation about different types of light.
This program is recommended for families with children ages 8+. Children must be accompanied by adults. One ticket must be purchased for each member of your group. Groups can have a maximum of 4 people. The folks at the Space Centre recommend that you dress warmly as the Observatory can be cold.
Select your desired time slot (9:45am, 10:30am, 11:15am, 12:00pm, 12:45pm, 1:30pm, 2:15pm or 3:00pm) and purchase a ticket for each member of your party.
Tickets are $10 each plus taxes and fees.
The Space Centre will be hosting 8 people per time slot to allow for adequate social distancing
