Glow in the Garden at VanDusen Botanical GardenWe all know – and love – the VanDusen Botanical Garden Festival of Lights. In 2016, the Garden launched a new holiday event in the garden – Glow in the Garden – and it is back for 2019. A small section of their 55 acres has been turned into a Halloween spectacle. Master pumpkin carvers have turned the berries (yup, pumpkins are actually berries) into mummies, spiders, Chewbacca, butterflies & more.

After wandering the orange-lit gardens and admiring the lit pumpkins (there are even glow-in-the-dark pumpkins), head back to the main building for kid-crafts. Our boys made the Halloween lanterns and the dangling spider. The spider danced around in a sufficiently realistic manner our cat felt the need to “kill” it.
