Langara College Continuing Studies Summer Camps offer a diverse range of camp options that go beyond the conventional classes typically offered for this age group. Teens will forge new friendships, explore their interests and passions, and learn new skills over the course of a one or two week camp located conveniently on Langara’s Main Campus. Summer Camp offerings include:

Business Start-Up Boot Camp: From Idea to Dragon’s Den: This one-week camp will encourage emerging entrepreneurs to bring their business idea to fruition through learning how to create a pitch, working with mentors, and learning what it takes to run a business.

Capture Summer: Teen Photography Summer Camp: Is your teen interested in becoming a photographer? Or do they just want to learn how to use a DSLR camera properly to take stunning images? During this one-week camp, students will learn the basics of photography and how to refine their ability to capture engaging images in-studio and outdoors.

En Garde! Fencing: No experience is necessary for participants to have a blast and learn a lot during this one-week sword-playing camp! Students will learn both the European and Japanese style of fencing as they develop their skills.

GEOCamp: Discovering the World Around You: Understanding Human and Physical Geography is crucial to understanding how the decisions that humans make impact the world. In this one-week camp, participants will explore big questions through hands-on learning, experiments, and fun activities.

Introduction to Digital Music Production: Have you ever wondered what it takes to produce music? Are you interested in becoming a DJ or working in the film or music industry? This two-week camp will introduce students to sequencing, arranging and recording with music production software.

Journalism for Teens: Online Reporting & Photography: Journalism is crucial to reporting on the world around us and reaching audiences. And, it’s easier than ever now with the use of smartphones to capture and record. This one-week camp will teach students how to build a compelling narrative and show them what it takes to be a great journalist.

No Planet B: Sustainable Leadership: If you are passionate about sustainability and looking for more ways to make a difference in your community, then this two-week camp is the perfect fit! Participants will communicate, collaborate and problem-solve with peers to come up with a way to make a difference in their communities.

Phoneography: Not Your Average Photography Course: Thanks to smartphones and improving technology, it’s easier than ever to take great photos. But, there is an art to capturing the perfect snap. Learn professional techniques to taking the perfect photo in this one-week camp.

Takin’ It To The Stage: Bring your own words and experience to the stage in this exciting performing arts camp! Over the course of two weeks, participants will explore their own stories through a range of artistic expression.

VEX Robotics: Build your own custom robot as part of this two-week camp using LEGO Mindstorm kits! Participants will work as a team to build their robot and then guide it through a series of challenges and obstacle courses.
