Leading Moms Inspiring Ideas

When my partner and I launched www.familyfuncalgary.com in 2008 we had big dreams, big plans but little free time. Juggling the demands of our children, husbands and homes, dealing with pregnancies and losses, we struggled to build our business and maintain our focus, drive and sanity. Plugging away, we have seen some of our dreams come true with our expansion to Vancouver, the launch of our national parenting hub www.familyfuncanada.com and the further expansion of our city sites coming soon to Edmonton and Halifax.

But along the way we have sagged. There were times when we lost our motivation and our enthusiasm for our work. Being stay at home moms and building our business was challenging because it was so easy to get distracted and lose momentum. How did we persevere? Simple; we supported each other. When I was down, she pushed me through. When she was down, I powered on. Alone we might have given up, but together we encouraged each other.

And that’s what Leading Moms:Inspiring Talks By Extraordinary Moms on October 3rd, 2012 is about! Moms coaching, supporting and inspiring each other to be their best, to work through adversity and inspire greatness in ourselves. I am looking forward to this because every time I attend a function like this I feel totally refreshed; that feeling gives me spark for months!

This event is hosted by some amazing mom-led organizations: VancouverMom.ca, Modern Mama and Entrepreneur Mom Now Vancouver. The keynote speakers are Premier Christie Clark and Fiona Douglas-Crampton, CEO of the Minerva Foundation. Along the way, we will mingle with some other wonderful and inspiring women, hear great talks and see a fashion show from local designer Nicole Bridger – with real moms as models!

Doesn’t matter if you are an entrepreneur, stay at home mom or employee, this day will charge you up to take on the world!

And the ladies are making it very easy for you to attend!

Don’t want to drive in Vancouver traffic? Easy! Use the free shuttle service from the Tri-Cities and Langley provided by Chevrolet Canada. Have a child at home but no babysitter? No problem! Complimentary childcare will be provided by Nannies on Call. Hungry? Breakfast is served courtesy of Nature’s Path.

Tickets are still available for Leading Moms. Will we see you there?
