{"id":10395,"date":"2013-01-26T14:38:15","date_gmt":"2013-01-26T22:38:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/?p=10395"},"modified":"2022-08-05T14:52:06","modified_gmt":"2022-08-05T21:52:06","slug":"yummy-yummy-street-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/yummy-yummy-street-food\/","title":{"rendered":"Yummy Yummy Street Food"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We braved the wind, rain and cold to enjoy FANTASTIC food at Street Food City II. \u00a0Our little ones weren&#8217;t entirely convinced that eating outside in the inclement weather was the best of ideas. \u00a0However, once we piled them with the warm tummy-filling delights they were happy clams!<\/p>\n<p>This is the 2nd year for <a title=\"Street Food City II | Vancouver\" href=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/street-food-city-ii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Street Food City<\/a>. \u00a0It is part of the <a title=\"Dine Out Vancouver (ongoing to Feb 3)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/dine-out-vancouver\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dine Out Vancouver<\/a> extravaganza that is currently taking over Vancouver restaurants. \u00a0From Wednesday to Sunday of this week (ends Jan 27), food carts from around Vancouver descend on the north plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery. \u00a0From 11am &#8211; 5pm (Sat &amp; Sun) the food carts open up shop and serve their yummy treats to the waiting crowds. \u00a0As the event is in conjunction with Dine Out Vancouver, the prices are lower than usual. \u00a0A nice perk!<\/p>\n<p>We got there right at 11am. \u00a0We were able to find a table under a tent, and didn&#8217;t have to wait in lengthy lines for our food. \u00a0The crowds certainly started to swell as we departed at noon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/yummy-yummy-street-food\/pulled-pork-slider\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10397\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10397\" src=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/files\/2013\/01\/Pulled-pork-slider.jpg\" alt=\"Pulled pork slider\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/files\/2013\/01\/Pulled-pork-slider.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/files\/2013\/01\/Pulled-pork-slider-450x600.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a>We decided to try a bit of everything. \u00a0We tried the Classic and (super yummy) Baby Daddy from <a title=\"Mom's Grilled Cheese Truck\" href=\"http:\/\/momsgrilledcheesetruck.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mom&#8217;s Grilled Cheese Truck<\/a>; the stick-to-your-ribs pupusa with beans &amp; cheese from <a title=\"Guanaco Truck on Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/guanacotruck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guanaco Truck<\/a>; fantastic (and super cheap) pulled pork sliders from <a title=\"Street Meet Food Truck\" href=\"http:\/\/streetmeettruck.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Street Meet<\/a>; the warm and gooey margarita pizza and delectable tiramisu from <a title=\"PazzaRella Food Truck\" href=\"http:\/\/pazzarella.ca\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PazzaRella<\/a>; and finished everything off with two massive slices of orange and poppyseed cake from <a title=\"Zebite Food Truck\" href=\"http:\/\/zebite.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zebite<\/a>. \u00a0It was a lot but our little boys held their own when trying all the options. \u00a0To be honest, we were a bit disappointed we had to share so much with them; we would have happily consumed it all ourselves!<\/p>\n<p>You are in luck the event runs for another 2.5 hours today and from 11-5pm tomorrow. \u00a0Make sure to bring cash as not all the food trucks accept other forms of payment. \u00a0Treat yourself and your family to a fun, and fulfilling, meal!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We braved the wind, rain and cold to enjoy FANTASTIC food at Street Food City II. \u00a0Our little ones weren&#8217;t entirely convinced that eating outside in the inclement weather was the best of ideas. \u00a0However, once we piled them with the warm tummy-filling delights they were happy clams!
