Somehow, despite my boys&#8217; train-fanaticism, we had missed going. We righted that wrong today! The gleaming black <a title=\"Engine 374\" href=\"http:\/\/roundhouse.ca\/about-us\/engine-374\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Engine 374<\/a> has been beautifully restored and is maintained by the Railway Museum of BC (the folks who run the great <a title=\"West Coast Railway Association\" href=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/west-coast-railway-association\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">train museum<\/a> up in Squamish).<\/p>\n<p>Kids are encouraged to climb on board the train and ring the bell. There is a great encouragement for the kids to explore all aspects of the train.\u00a0 Around the beautiful brick and glass building are photos showing the history of Engine 374 and Vancouver. The changes in the last 50 years are rather astounding!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/impressive-engine-374\/engine-374\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11202\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11202 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/files\/2013\/05\/Engine-374.jpg\" alt=\"Engine 374\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/files\/2013\/05\/Engine-374.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/files\/2013\/05\/Engine-374-600x450.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a>While the train is open most every day, the hours fluctuate a little bit as it is run by volunteers. It is worth making a quick call to the <a title=\"Roundhouse contact info\" href=\"http:\/\/roundhouse.ca\/contact-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Roundhouse Community Centre <\/a>\u00a0to confirm it&#8217;s open.
