There are a number of ways cities across Metro Vancouver are helping residents dispose of their Christmas trees. Click on your city in the list below and check out how you can get rid of your festive tree. Remember, many of the tree-chipping events are fundraisers for non-profit organizations, so be sure to donate. You can find out more about these tree-chipping events at www.rcbc.ca.<\/a><\/p>\n

Abbotsford:<\/h2>\n

Christmas trees can be cut into smaller pieces and placed in your compostable waste container or into tied bundles for curbside collection. The bundle length must be shorter than 1 m and the bundle diameter must be less than 60 cm.<\/p>\n

Decorated or flocked trees will not be collected curbside or accepted at the composting facility. These items should be taken to a\u00a0transfer station<\/a>\u00a0for disposal.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

Burnaby:<\/h2>\n

Residential Christmas tree collection<\/a> will take place from\u00a0January 12-30, 2026<\/strong>. Please place your tree out for collection on January 12th and it will be collected during these two weeks. The same dates apply to multi-family complexes, as long as you receive city collection.<\/p>\n

Trees can also be brought directly to the\u00a0Eco-Centre <\/a>if you miss the curbside collection. Proof of residency is required.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Chilliwack:<\/h2>\n

Have your tree at your curbside by 7am on your regular collection day<\/a>. Ensure all decorations have been removed. There is a limit to 2 trees per household. Trees need to be bare but not wrapped. The pick-up is available during the first two weeks of January<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Drop off your tree for FREE at the Parr Road Green Depot<\/a> (45175 Parr Road) or the Bailey Sanitary Landfill<\/a>. People are encouraged to bring a donation of food or cash. Available for the first 2 weeks in January 2026<\/strong>.\u00a0 After that, Parr Road Green Depot will still take your tree, but fees will apply.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

Coquitlam:<\/h2>\n

Coquitlam residents can drop off their trees for FREE at the Coquitlam Transfer Station (1200 United Boulevard), or cut their tree into 1m lengths and place in the green waste carts for pickup.<\/p>\n

Scouts francophone de Maillardville<\/a><\/h3>\n

North Delta Lions Club Chipping Event<\/a><\/h3>\n

<\/u><\/u>The City\u2019s Recycling Depot, located at 5555 Lynas Lane, accepts trees between\u00a09 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0from\u00a0Wednesday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0Sunday<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0 Please note the depot is closed on statutory holidays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
