{"id":13199,"date":"2014-01-25T15:45:10","date_gmt":"2014-01-25T23:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/?p=13199"},"modified":"2022-08-05T14:24:34","modified_gmt":"2022-08-05T21:24:34","slug":"stuff-yourself-silly-at-street-food-iii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/stuff-yourself-silly-at-street-food-iii\/","title":{"rendered":"Stuff Yourself Silly at Street Food III"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The very successful <a title=\"Street Food City III\" href=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/street-food-city-iii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Street Food<\/a> event, part of <a title=\"Dine Out Vancouver\" href=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/vancouver\/dine-out-vancouver\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dine Out Vancouver<\/a>, runs until Sunday January 26th at the plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery. \u00a0From 11am &#8211; 5pm more than <a title=\"Dine Out Vancouver Food Truck listing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dineoutvancouver.com\/events\/street-food-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">20 food trucks<\/a> offer a massive variety of foods to sample.<\/p>\n<p>We came with empty stomachs and an enthusiasm to try everything! \u00a0The kids LOVED the <a title=\"Kaboom Box\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thekaboombox.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kaboom Box<\/a> fries, I was very partial to their Oyster Po&#8217;Boy. \u00a0The chicken tacos at <a title=\"Tacofino\" href=\"http:\/\/tacofino.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tacofino<\/a> was ridiculously good&#8230;we should have ordered more!<\/p>\n<p>The grilled cheese special from <a title=\"Mom's Grilled Cheese\" href=\"http:\/\/momsgrilledcheesetruck.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mom&#8217;s Grilled Cheese<\/a> was delightfully spicy. \u00a0As it was a bit too hot for the kiddies so we ordered them a havarti on multi-grain. \u00a0Yummy!<\/p>\n<p>The chai tea from <a title=\"Vij's Railway Express\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vijsrailwayexpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vij&#8217;s Railway Express<\/a> was delicious. \u00a0Fortunately the cool outside temperatures quickly made the tea a kid-friendly temperature. \u00a0The butter chicken schnitzel was super yummy&#8230;it was also too spicy for our little 3 &amp; 5 year olds, but us parents had no trouble gobbling it all up.<\/p>\n<p>I highly recommend the &#8220;super healthy&#8221; poutine perogies from <a title=\"Holy Perogy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanspoon.com\/r\/14\/1684440\/restaurant\/Downtown\/Holy-Perogy-Vancouver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Holy Perogy<\/a>. \u00a0Pay the extra $2 for the bacon, it is so worth it!<\/p>\n<p>Everything we tried was positively delicious. \u00a0We are going back for round 2 tomorrow! \u00a0My only complaint, the lack of desserts this year. \u00a0Last year, a number of the trucks put together a little special dessert&#8230;this year no one did. \u00a0My sweet tooth was left hanging. \u00a0However, considering the stupid amount of food we packed away, our belt lines were probably most appreciative of the absent desserts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The very successful Street Food event, part of Dine Out Vancouver, runs until Sunday January 26th at the plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery. \u00a0From 11am &#8211; 5pm more than 20 food trucks offer a massive variety of foods to sample.
