The sun has been generous and that means the strawberries are plentiful. \u00a0While today was a drizzly-Vancouver-special we bundled up and headed to the strawberry fields. \u00a0The plants are LOADED with perfectly ripe berries. \u00a0Very few were over ripe, the majority were perfectly ripe juicy red berries.<\/p>\n

Krause Berry Farms<\/a>, out in Langley, is incredibly kid friendly. \u00a0There are wagons to use (a $1 deposit is required per wagon). \u00a0While the wagons aren’t for kids, the kids sure have fun pulling them through the fields. \u00a0Krause Berry has tractor train rides, a large playground and fantastic treats.<\/p>\n

After we picked our fill of berries, we headed to On The Porch<\/a> for a snack. \u00a0The french fries were yummy, the moo melt (aka grilled cheese) was delicious, and the ice cream sundae in a waffle-cone bowl was drool-worthy. After our bellies were full we wandered into the store and purchased 4 fruit pies: cherry, blueberry, apple and strawberry\/rhubarb. \u00a0Yum!<\/p>\n

New this year is the Krause Berry winery<\/a>. \u00a0Their wines are all made of fruit. \u00a0We sampled some last year and can’t wait to return for a summer afternoon sipping that delicious nectar.<\/p>\n

The majority of the berry fields<\/a> are now open. \u00a0Strawberries run through June and a bit of July, they return in August & September. \u00a0Blueberries are July and August; blackberries are ripe in August. \u00a0Enjoy picking berries with your kids!<\/p>\n","protected":false,"gt_translate_keys":[{"key":"rendered","format":"html"}]},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
