What a way to spend a dark and rainy Friday the 13th! The Harlem Globetrotters<\/a> lit up the Abbotsford Centre<\/a> with their unbelievable energy and ridiculous talent.<\/p>\n

As my husband and I lean more towards the\u00a0arts for entertainment, our little ones have had minimal exposure to sporting events. \u00a0Tonight’s Harlem Globetrotter spectacular is inevitably going to result in our kids asking to attend more sporting events. \u00a0If all sporting entertainment is as amazing as the Globies, I’m hooked!<\/p>\n

The Harlem Globetrotters put on crowd-pleasing show. \u00a0The audience was laughing, clapping and cheering through the entire event. From their insanely-talented antics on the court to their comedic timing and hilarious commentary the Globetrotters give you great value for the ticket price.<\/p>\n

The event is structured around a 4 quarter basketball model. \u00a0There was a half time show which featured a local Abbotsford performing group. However, during the actual quarters there are breaks for crowd entertainment (as if their skill wasn’t enough).<\/p>\n

A favourite of our sons was when two of the players clambered on top of the nets at both ends of the court. \u00a0I’m a bit worried my 6 year old was trying to figure out a way to replicate that move. \u00a0Another crowd favourite was Big G. For the life of my I couldn’t figure out how that mascot worked but the prat falls during “When I Get Knocked Down” were priceless.<\/p>\n

We indulged\u00a0our boys with Harlem Globetrotters basketballs. \u00a0Our little one was ready to leave as soon as he got his ball;\u00a0all he wanted to do was dribble his . \u00a0Many kids were spotted sneaking up the stairs to the concourse to practice their dribbling at various points during the game. \u00a0Clearly the Globies were inspiring another generation of basketball players.<\/p>\n

While I haven’t been able to find a reference of when the Harlem Globetrotters will be back in town, be sure to keep an eye on their travel schedule<\/a>. They put on a great game and it is a fantastic family-fun event!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
