Yet another fantastic playground can be found in the Tri-Cities. Between 2013 and the fall of 2015, the city of Port Coquitlam invested a million dollars into updating Lions Park. Set just off the busy Lougheed Highway, this tranquil park has something for everyone.<\/p>\n

First off, this expansive playground has plenty of “zones” for kids of all ages. The huge silver tube slide is always a hit! The main jungle gym offers several climbing options (stairs, rope ladder, and metal climbing column). Once at the top, there is a large platform for imaginative play and either the slide or the fireman’s pole to get you back on the ground.<\/p>\n

Both baby and big-kid swings are scattered about the park, as is a zip line, spinning rope pyramid, and musical instruments. I was fascinated by the huge tires and the big tree stump begging to be climbed. These tires have been around *forever* and if you grew up in the TriCities, chances are you have memories (or a photo or two) of jumping from tire to tire!<\/p>\n

Lions Park also has a water park and water feature, which operates from May to September. While waiting for the warmer weather, the kids can bring their shovels (or find a stick) and have a blast digging in the designated sandy areas.<\/p>\n

Families and caregivers will delight in both the park bathrooms and the easy-to-access parking lot. There are also a large number of picnic tables scattered immediately around the playground and tucked off in the shade of the trees.<\/p>\n
