Grouse Mountain’s Summer Adventure Day Camps are dialed into what kids find interesting: adventure, survival, hiking, ziplining, nature art, and survival games. The activities planned each week highlight the unique landscape of Grouse Mountain and are focused on providing kids with experiences they can only<\/em> have at The Peak of Vancouver and not at any summer camp throughout the city. The campers’ days will be filled with fresh air and exciting adventures, ensuring they are chatting excitedly for the drive home. Each camp is grouped by age to ensure the level of difficulty in the activities is both challenging and age-appropriate.<\/p>\n

\"Grouse<\/a><\/p>\n

Pathfinders<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>| <\/i>Kids born between 2018-2020:<\/p>\n

The smallest explorers are guaranteed to have a blast at Grouse Mountain Summer Adventure Camps as they choose between three<\/strong> unique options. Those who are looking for true adventure can opt into the <\/span>Adventure is Calling<\/b> camp, where they will see a lumberjack show, learn from First Nations artists and create their own wood pendant art, participate in axe throwing and logger games (safely, of course!), practice their archery skills, and play tons of outdoor nature games. If your child is looking for more of a thrill and challenge, then the <\/span>Mountain Explorers and Survival<\/b> camp will be right up their alley! Your child will learn crucial survival skills such as situational and outdoor awareness, survival bag setup, and survival knowledge, go for a backcountry hike, play survival games, and even learn how to build their own shelter! Do you have a Nature Detective<\/strong> on your hands? Campers will learn about bird identification and develop their spotting skills, explore BC wildlife identification of tracks, scat, and learn how to be safe around wildlife. Along the way, students will do nature journaling, make special nature crafts with felt, and play plenty of nature-related games and activities.\u00a0 Single-day camps are available in addition to weeklong options.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alpine Blazers<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0| <\/i>Kids born between 2013 – 2017:<\/p>\n

This signature experience offers the same great choices between two themes (Adventure is Calling\u00a0 & Mountain Explorers and Survival), but with added elements of challenge and age-appropriate activities to ensure campers are connecting to nature in a meaningful and engaging way. In the <\/span>Adventure is Calling<\/b> option, Alpine Blazer campers will explore the Peak Chair, learn about BC wildlife and wildlife safety by looking for tracks, scat, and skulls. Campers will play the popular and beloved “Capture the Flag” game as they build friendships and make connections to last a lifetime. When your child enrolls in <\/span>Mountain Explorer and Survival<\/b> camp, they will spend their days learning and practicing their geocaching skills and navigation, learning about bushcraft, and going on two half-day hikes to Dam Mountain and Thunderbird Ridge. \u00a0Nature Scientists<\/strong> is similar to the junior Nature Detectives program, but with more detailed and age-appropriate learning opportunities. Nature Scientists will become experts in wildlife identification of scat, tracks, and skulls. Campers will visit with the bears that live on Grouse Mountain (from afar!) and get special Behind the Scenes information about bear artefacts with the rangers. Single-day camps are available in addition to weeklong options.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Grouse<\/a><\/p>\n

Extreme Adventurers<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0| <\/i>Kids born between 2011 – 2015:<\/p>\n

If your child loves having an extremely<\/strong> good time, then they will love this fun-filled camp! Test your skills on a 5-line Mountain Zipline, go backcountry hiking and practice your survival skills, increase your communication and leadership skills in a Mountain Rope Course, and have a blast learning archery and axe-throwing. It might be hard to believe, but these are just a few of the amazing activities offered to Extreme Adventurers over their week-long summer camp! *Note* Kids enrolling in Extreme Adventures also need to meet a height and weight requirement to participate. Please ensure that your child is 145cm or taller and weighs between 70 and 250 lbs on the first day of camp. Kids enrolling in this program must also be able to hike on a moderate incline for an hour.<\/p>\n

Have a super outdoorsy kid who is really looking for a challenge? Learn more about the Mountain Goats Hiking Program<\/a>, where youth ages 11 – 15 will participate in daily backcountry hikes on popular North Shore trails. With each summit reached, your youth will experience a sense of accomplishment and pride at overcoming challenges and persevering to achieve their goals. Along the way, supportive camp guides will help youth prepare, learn, and build endurance.<\/p>\n

Mavericks Mountain Bike Camps<\/a><\/strong> | Kids aged 7 -14:<\/p>\n

These camps are geared toward kids and youth ages 7-14 who are confident riding on paved paths and confident using hand gears and hand brakes. During these week-long camps, instructors will demonstrate new skills and allow ample time for campers to practice and spend time on the trails. The entire day will be spent outdoors on bikes or taking breaks as needed to refuel, rest, and learn from the guides. Your child will come home at the end of each day exhausted and excited to return the next day. Not only do Mavericks Mountain Bike Camps build biking competency, but they also increase self-awareness, confidence, and independence as campers are encouraged to try new things and be responsible for themselves and others on the trails.<\/p>\n

For all Adventure Camps, a daily kid-friendly lunch is available for purchase for $100\/week, so you can just hop in the car in the morning and know your child will be well taken care of at Grouse Mountain! After Camp Care is available as an add-on from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm.<\/p>\n
