Some families have planted vegetable gardens this year; we have. But let’s be honest, we don’t really know what we are doing and guaranteed this year’s crop will be sub-par merely due to our learning curve. So in an effort to shore up our produce “pipeline” for this year we’ve started investigating CSA boxes.<\/p>\n

CSA = Community Support Agriculture<\/p>\n

A CSA Box gives you a weekly (or bi-weekly) infusion of locally grown veggies. You are supporting local agriculture, ensuring job-security for famers, reducing your carbon footprint (buying local) and ensuring a wonderful supply of seasonal fresh fruit, veggies, eggs (and sometimes meat and seafood). There are even CSA boxes that include honey, herbs, flowers, and grains.<\/p>\n
