In practical terms, the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics differs from traditional gymnastics in how it is performed and the apparatus used. Rhythmic gymnasts gradually acquire skill in graceful body movements that require strength, hand-eye coordination, and agility. The apparatus that rhythmic gymnasts use are the hoop, ball, rope, ribbon, and clubs.</del>

Rhythmic gymnastics differs from traditional gymnastics in how it is performed and the apparatus used. In rhythmic gymnastics, athletes focus on creativity, form, rhythm, and artistry through their performance and tell a story through their movement. In essence, it is a combination of dance, music, and gymnastics skilled seamlessly blended to create a captivating performance. Rhythmic gymnastics also uses hoops, balls, ribbons, and sometimes other materials to create expressive routines, rather than relying on large structures such as beams and bars. When these skills are combined, one sees an elegant and innovative musically choreographed performance that can “tell a story”.</del>
