When I was little, my sister planted a single sunflower seed in our garden that she received in a birthday goodie bag. Wouldn’t you know it – that tiny seed grew and grew and grew until it towered above our house. We still have the photo of her sitting on a tall ladder, directly parallel to the roof, with the sunflower high above her head. Each year, the number of sunflower fields in Metro Vancouver dwindles, but there are still a few exceptional locations to wander through towering fields of golden blooms to snap your special photos.\u00a0 Whether you’re visiting for the Instagram-worthy views, picking your own flowers, or simply soaking up the sunshine, a trip to a sunflower farm is a must-do family adventure for late-summer days and evenings.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf3b Richmond Sunflower Festival<\/a>| Opens August 2 – mid-September:<\/h3>\n

There\u2019s nothing better than late summer sunflowers popping up in your garden \u2013 except maybe an entire field of sunflowers to wander through! Head to Richmond Country Farms to stroll through the fields and capture some amazing photos, enjoy live music, and pick up some delicious eats from local food trucks.<\/p>\n

This family-run farm is a best-kept-secret for seeing incredible sunflower fields. Join their special events such as Yoga\/Pilates in the Sunflower Fields, Paint Night in the Sunflower Fields, and the popular Sunsets in the Sunflowers Night Market.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf3b The Magic of Sunflowers at Taves Farm<\/a> | August 6 – September 6<\/h3>\n

Taves Farm is an exciting destination year-round, but it\u2019s particularly spectacular in August when the sunflower fields are in full bloom. Stroll through the fairytale-themed fields, cuddle with cute animals, and cap off your day with a taste of their special fruit cider.<\/p>\n

Enjoy the beauty of a full and vibrant sunflower field at the official Sunflower Festival!
