From scorching sun to torrential rain– that’s a pretty accurate reflection of the month of April! As this month comes to a close, we are reminded that summer is on the horizon and with it comes longer days, more consistent sunshine (we hope!), and that long school break that kids look forward to. Don’t forget to register for 夏令营 now to avoid the scramble once June starts!

1. 里士满夜市
The first sign that summer is right around the corner is when the Richmond Night Market opens! Don’t miss your chance to hear live music, shop at the vendor stalls throughout, play carnival games, and of course– try the most delicious food! The Richmond Night Market opens Friday, April 26th, and will remain open until October.
2. Girls Fly2
Girls Fly2 is a FREE event that aims to encourage and inspire girls through hands-on activities and displays from some of the top industry leaders in their fields. Participants will engage with aircraft and equipment, complete a treasure map passport, and meet with a NASA astronaut. Females (of any age) who have never flown before will have the opportunity to take a free flight!
3. 高贵林美食车节
The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival is touring the Lower Mainland and this weekend, it’s in Coquitlam at Lafarge Lake! Some of Metro Vancouver’s most popular – and most delicious – food trucks will be at this event. Admission to the festival is FREE.
4. 阿伯茨福德 Agrifair 快闪嘉年华

Sundays are for the kids at Landmark Cinemas! For under $15, you can get a movie ticket to *any* of the films currently playing, PLUS a snack pack that includes, popcorn, a drink and a treat. Escape the rain and head indoors for a movie this weekend!
6. Michael’s Make Break: Friendship Bracelets
Don’t miss your chance to make friendship bracelets at your local Michael’s on Saturday, April 27th from 10am-12pm. This is a FREE workshop and all materials are provided.
7. 地球派对
Join Metro Vancouver’s largest FREE event celebrating Earth Day at Surrey’s Party for the Planet. Catch live performances, participate in free workshops, hear from experienced environmentalists and vendors and check out tons of fun games, activities and crafts for all ages.
