This fall, you can let your children learn new ways to express their opinions and learn about the world of debating. ਸਸਕੈਚਵਨ ਇਲੋਕਿਊਸ਼ਨ ਐਂਡ ਡਿਬੇਟ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ (SEDA) has a Speech & Debate Academy that will engage your kids in public speaking, improve their debate skills and help students find confidence in communicating with those around them.
This after-school program will be perfect if you have a child who loves to debate, argue their point and learn. Your debaters will think critically and have a chance to have their say thoughtfully and creatively. ਰਜਿਸਟਰੇਸ਼ਨ for these programs opens on September 13, 2024.
Why Should Your Kids Debate?
Students will be taught critical thinking skills that will help them communicate and learn how to express themselves in future endeavours. While gaining a higher confidence in their words, debaters will learn how to maintain their composure and work as a team. Learning how to debate will help your children in their high school lives and will provide skills as they pursue post-secondary academics, future careers and assist with life experience. Students will enhance their research skills and dive into diverse subjects.
A Little About SEDA
The Saskatchewan Elocution and Debate Association (SEDA) is a registered charity and volunteer-driven organization founded in 1974. We teach speech and debate to students in grades 5-12, host competitive tournaments, help start speech and debate clubs, and run workshops.

Classes start in October and you can ਰਜਿਸਟਰ ਕਰੋ in September. Students in grades 5 to 10 will be in classes divided by age and experience level. Debaters will meet once a week for five weeks each term.
