The City of Toronto celebrates the grand opening of the brand new Biidaasige Park (pronounced “bee-daw-si-geh” and meaning “sunlight shining toward us” in Anishinaabemowin / Ojibwemowin) with free activities for all ages, such as nature and birding tours, live performances, hands-on crafts, storytelling, as well as butterfly puppet workshops and daily parades by Shadowland Theatre. Located in Toronto’s East Portlands as part of the city’s waterfront revitalization, this park honours Canada’s wildlife, green spaces and waterways with creative playground areas, depicting badlands and animal sculptures.
