saugaLIVE is hosting a party with Family Day in Downtown Mississauga, presented by TD! There’s something for the whole family to enjoy, including a family-friendly theatrical performance of “Jungle Book” and free hands-on activities at the Living Arts Centre, along with a skating party on Mississauga’s largest outdoor skating rink at Celebration Square.
Families can enjoy an afternoon filled with exciting activities for all ages at both the Celebration Square and the Living Arts Centre, located in the heart of Mississauga. So, be sure to make this Family Day a memorable one while celebrating in two of the city’s top venues!
Family Day in Downtown Mississauga — Event Schedule
TD is making it possible for GTA families to spend the day having fun together in Downtown Mississauga this Family Day by providing numerous free activities for the family at Living Arts Centre and Celebration Square. Plus, you can also check out an awe-inspiring production of “Jungle Book” as well!
Living Arts Centre – Free Family Activities and “Jungle Book”
Roar into Family Day when The Living Arts Centre presents matinée performances of a much-loved family story in “Jungle Book“! This dazzling production reimagines Rudyard Kipling’s classic stories through a modern lens, with a story that is both familiar and timeless. There are two shows to choose from, 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM. Advance tickets are required and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
This dazzling production by Kidoons and WYRD, in association with The 20K Collective, reimagines Rudyard Kipling’s classic stories and brings its beloved characters to life through live action, video, shadow-play and original music. It’s sure to delight both kids and adults alike!
In addition, families can drop by The Living Arts Centre for an afternoon of creative hands-on activities for kids of all ages, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Children can go wild with animal and nature-themed projects, such as lion face masks, colourful insect creations, and pipe‑cleaner snakes, as well as scratch‑art surprises, fossil ornaments, and maple‑themed crafts to get ready for Spring. Then, kids and grown‑ups can also explore hands-on art stations that feature different artistic printmaking methods, like block, collagraph, and screen printing, along with uncovering exciting and mysterious artifacts. What’s more, families can get interactive too, with dance moments to get everyone moving!
Celebration Square – Free DJ Skate Party
Strap your skates on and fly over to Celebration Square, where you can hit the ice and join their DJ Skate Party! With DJ Andre 905 bringing the beats on the turntables, families can skate the day away and glide under the winter sky. Even better, when you need to take a break and warm up, you can cozy up together on one of Celebration Square’s heated patios. Don’t miss out on snacking on a tasty treat or two from the on-site food trucks.
