Celebrate Earth Day throughout the month of April at Toronto History Museums to enjoy a variety of environment-focussed events and cultural opportunities. Most events are free, including creative workshops, clean-up events, farmers markets, and community gatherings for all ages.

Colborne Lodge

  • Gather for Turtle Day at Colborne Lodge

    In anticipation of High Park’s Turtles on the Move Parade on April 25, 2026, families can create turtle puppets, masks, and signs with words of encouragement for our turtle friends!
  • Cherry Blossom Season at Colborne Lodge
    Date: May 2-3, 2026, Saturday-Sunday 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    Celebrate Cherry Blossom season in High Park! Learn about the history of the park’s cherry trees and see reproductions of 19th century Japanese art and poetry, and add your own haiku to the display. You can even make your own Sakura souvenir, with materials, instructions, and workspace provided.

Fort York National Historic Site

  • Community Clean-Up at Fort York
    Date: April 25, 2026, Sunday 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
    Help clean up parts of the 43-acre historic site of Fort York, meeting at the historic west gate. Litter bags are provided, but please bring your own gloves.

Montgomery’s Inn

  • Montgomery’s Inn Indoor Farmer’s Market
    Date: Ongoing until May 20, 2026, Wednesday 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
    Celebrate Earth Day by buying farm-fresh food at Montgomery’s Inn Indoor Farmer’s Market, which offers a variety of local food vendors, selling both produce and pre-made goods and ready-to-eat food.

Scarborough Museum

  • Gather for April Weekends at Scarborough Museum

    Learn about sustainability, then try your hand at planting a seed to take home. Visit the museum’s story corner, including books for all ages about the environment, and have a warm drink and snack, all prepared on the museum’s historic stove!
  • Eco Day at Scarborough Museum

    In association with the Scarborough Environmental Association, this free community event celebrates sustainability, nature, and local environmental action, such as repairing your bike, swapping clothes, learning more about native plants, and connecting with local groups.
