The magic of Disney and Pixar is coming to theatres once again, with their newest animated film, Onward. Just by watching the trailer, it’s obvious that this one is going to be full of humour, fantasy and action . . . and as always, get you right in the feels! No one does family entertainment quite like Disney and Pixar.
The storyline features teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, who get an unexpected opportunity to spend one more day with their late dad. This propels them onto an extraordinary quest aboard Barley’s epic van, Guinevere. Like any good quest, their journey is filled with magic spells, cryptic maps, impossible obstacles and unimaginable discoveries. But when the boys’ fearless mom, Laurel, realizes her sons are missing, she begins her own journey. She teams up with a part-lion, part-bat, part-scorpion, former warrior – aka The Manticore – and heads off to find them. Perilous curses aside, this one magical day could mean more than any of them ever imagined.
Onward boasts an impressive cast, including the voices of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer. Paired with some fantastic music and a meaningful plot, you’ve got a great setting for your family to do some serious bonding together. Hold on to your pants, because this movie is going to become a new household favourite!
