Small-town fairs are a traditional way to spend a Fall weekend, especially over the Thanksgiving long weekend. You can get out of the city and enjoy some outdoor time in the fresh crisp air, watch a show, see farm animals and giant pumpkins, go on some rides and eat some special carnival treats. Here is our list of Thanksgiving Weekend Fairs in Southern Ontario:

Burford Fall Fair

This fair between Brantford and Woodstock has classic shows such as a demo derby, tractor pull and antique car show, a baby show and horse chariot races, plus horse rides, petting zoo, midway and playground.
When: October 9 – 10
Where: 6 Park Avenue, Burford (west of Brantford)

Erin Fair

The Erin Fair has lots of fun shows (tractor and horse pulls, drive-in bingo, 4 Paws Flying Dog Show, Ontario Xtreme Cowboy, live music) as well as an agriculture tent with animals and a midway.
When: October 8 – 11
Where: 184 Main St, Erin (west of Caledon)

Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show

The Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show has a focus on agriculture with cow milking demonstrations and various animal shows (cattle, horse, miniature horse, sheep, llama), and stage concerts, buskers and a midway.
When: October 5 – 11
Where: 172 South Drive, Simcoe (north of Port Dover)


If you want to stay in Toronto, PumpkinFest Toronto at Downsview Park has a midway and trackless trains, pumpkin patch, inflatable corn maze, pony rides, carnival games, pumpkin bowling, rock climbing and mini-putt. Plus performances by the President’s Choice® SuperDogs™!
When: October 9 – 11
Where: 35 Carl Hall Road (Entrance at Sheppard Ave. W and John Drury Dr.)

Woodbridge Fair

Just north of Etobicoke, the Woodbridge Fall Fair hosts a number of sights and attractions: midway, farm area, local entertainment, dining area, blacksmith, a giant pumpkin & vegetable contest and more.
When: October 9 – 11
Where: 100 Porter Avenue, Woodbridge (off Kipling Ave. north of Hwy 7)
