Toronto Symphony Orchestra takes audiences on a musical trip through the animal kingdom with the exuberant matinée performance of “Dan Brown’s Wild Symphony”. This show lives up to its name by offering a refreshingly wild concert experience for the whole family!

Parents know Dan Brown as the #1 New York Times best-selling author of “The Da Vinci Code”, which quickly became a publishing and pop culture phenomenon. Now comes the first music release since his illustrious writing career began, including a new illustrated children’s book and boisterous orchestral music recording. Led by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra‘s RBC Resident Conductor Trevor Wilson, “Wild Symphony” unleashes a magical experience of music, springing to life off the page and on stage. The show features nearly two dozen movements that correspond to an animal featured in the picture book. Go on a wild ride through the energetic rhythms of “Bouncing Kangaroo”, the melodious melodies of “Wondrous Whale”, the lush harmonies of “Brilliant Bat”, and much more.

A Magical Experience of Classical Music

In “Dan Brown’s Wild Symphony”, audiences travel with Maestro Mouse and his musical friends through the trees and across the seas! Throughout the musical escapade, families meet speedy cheetahs, tiny beetles, graceful swans, and even a big blue whale. Upon learning that each animal has a special secret to share, we are also reminded that “it’s great to admire the skills of others, but don’t forget that you have special talents too.”

A unique experience for children of all ages, Brown’s intent with Wild Symphony is to “provide a fun, fresh opportunity for families, parents, children, and people of all ages to reconnect with the magical experience of classical music”.

Go Wild at the Pre-Concert Lobby Activities!

As the saying goes about the early bird, get an extra treat by arriving an hour early to join a pre-concert activity at the majestic Roy Thomson Hall. Not only will there be a short musical performance, but families can also meet a real-life bird of prey! Meet educators from the University of Guelph’s Wild Ontario and hear a delightful arrangement of Saint-Saëns’ “Carnival of the Animals” by Brampton’s Youth Orchestra, the Rosebuds.
