Future of Film Showcase (FOFS) returns for its ninth year this June 17-25, 2022. The hybrid festival will showcase 14 short films in person at Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto from the next generation of great Canadian filmmakers.

Ticket holders can attend in person panels, workshops, screenings, and more! FOFS’ short film programming will also be streaming on CBC Gem beginning on June 20, 2022 and available for free to audiences across Canada.

Note: Proof of vaccination (minimum 2 doses) is required for all in-person events. Masks are encouraged.

2022 Shorts Programme — June 19, 4:00-6:00pm
A Q&A discussion will follow the screenings at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto. This event will have ASL Interpretation and open captioning.

Future of Equity in Film Panel — June 25, 2022, 3:00pm
This annual panel brings together Canadian film production professionals to discuss what the future of equity looks like on set. Panelists share personal stories and unpack what they believe equity and meaningful change looks like in our industry today.

Jim Cummings Interview — June 25, 6:00pm
A casual “In Conversation Series” discussion focuses on Jim Cummings’ journey as an actor/filmmaker producer/writer/director and his body of work. The virtual talk will touch on how to pursue a career in the industry and work on inspiring young creatives to follow their passions within film.
