Kids interested in learning about agriculture and farming can experience life in the beautiful countryside at Round The Bend Farm Summer Harvest Camp! This summer camp is dedicated to providing outdoor and educational programming for children aged 5-9, giving them with an enriched outdoor space to play in and learn from. The campers get to enjoy the great outdoors and explore the fully operational family farm, where they participate in both small-scale and large-scale agriculture.
At this summer camp, the hosts at Round The Bend Farm help kids deepen their connection to the world around us in the most practical and natural way… farming! The young farmers get to stroll through fields and forests, do some planting and harvesting, make nature crafts, and have some water fun to stay cool. Of course, the most exciting part for little kids is learning about animal care and playing with the farm animals!
Round The Bend Farm Summer Harvest Camp — Programming
The Summer Harvest Camp program for children aged 5-9 consists of seven one-week sessions from July to the end of August. In this day camp program, kids can engage with the farm in a whole new way! Camp activities include caring for and learning about the animals on the farm, including cows, pigs, goats, sheep, alpacas and peacocks. They create unique nature-themed crafts, with the materials often sourced from nature. Then, campers get an assigned raised garden bed for the week to plant seedlings, and also harvest and clean grown fruits and veggies. During the water fun activities, participants can cool off from the summer heat and use the inflatable water slide and sprinklers.
Campers can participate in plenty of fun outdoor activities, including:
- Planting
- Foraging and plant identification
- Pest identification
- Flower pressing
- Stream study
- Education on organic growing methods, permaculture, and natural pest management
- Making natural dyes
- Making treats for farm animals
- Collecting and washing eggs
- Composting
- Learning about “leaf luminaries”
- And so much more!
Adult Week
Round The Bend Farm’s Summer Harvest Camp is a new farm-based summer camp that values mindfulness and intentionally engaging with nature. Not only that, but even adults can get on the farming fun! Round the Bend Farm hosts Adult Week on the week of July 29-August 2, where programming takes place on a daily basis for just $70 per day. It’s perfect for people aged 18+ who long for the summer camp experience and want to learn about sustainable agriculture, and who want to engage with nature further.
Weather
Just like nature, this summer camp experience runs rain or shine! However, when thunderstorms strike, participants take shelter in the greenhouses, barns, and lunch shelters. There, kids and adults alike can have fun with indoor programming. Even on a rainy day, there’s always lots to learn at the farm!

Weekly Fee: $350 per week per person, for all weeks except Adult Week (July 29-August 2) and August Civic Holiday short week (August 6-9 – $280/week)
Before & After Care: additional $25/day (upon request)
