Aspiring musicians, get ready to rock this summer at Bloor West Music Studios! Located in the heart of Bloor West Village, kids and teens aged 5-16 can perform and shine like a true rock legend. On alternating weeks through the summer, families can choose between the Sound Explorers Summer Camp for beginners and the Rapid Rockstar Summer Camp for more experienced performers.
At these exhilarating summer camps, students learn how to play in a band to develop as musicians but also, above all, have fun. To ensure campers receive an elevated level of expertise and continuity, each weekly session is led by Bloor West Music Studios’ experienced band instructors who, along with supporting staff, are all part of the year-round teaching staff. With bands formed by age and skill level, and a maximum of only six students, all the young rock stars can create and shred with confidence!
Budding Musicians Can Have a Real Band Experience!
- Band Formation — First, the band gets formed, and the musicians learn how to play together and collaborate on their musical act.
- Creative Development — Next, the band develops their unique brand, including deciding on a band name and cultivating its own particular sound.
- Photo Shoot — To really feel like a rock star, the band members have their photos taken! This also makes a fun keepsake of this exciting summer camp.
- Friday Rock Show — Lastly, the cap off the week’s progress, the band showcases their skills with a live performance where everyone takes the stage to play for an appreciative audience!
Sound Explorers Summer Camp (Ages 5-10)
Does your child have an interest in music but no previous experience, and you’re not sure what instrument your child would like best? Or maybe they already take lessons and want to try a different instrument? Not to worry, because in Bloor West Music Studios’ Sound Explorers Summer Camp, kids have fun all week while exploring different instruments, including piano, voice, ukulele, percussion, lead guitar and bass guitar. Each participant learns the basics of each instrument, and then the group comes together to jam! At the end of the week, the band rocks out for their parents and caregivers.
Rapid Rockstar Summer Camp (Ages 8-16)
Does your child have some experience playing an instrument or singing? Older kids and teens get the chance to have an unforgettable summer experience at Bloor West Music Studios’ Rapid Rockstar Summer Camp. Once they have reached a basic skill level with their chosen instrument, they can let their musical imaginations run wild and rock out with fellow aspiring artists. As with the Sound Explorers camp, the Rapid Rockstar finishes their amazing week of creativity with a concert to show off their newfound rockin’ skills!
