Journey to the African savanna when the original 1994 animated film version of Disney’s The Lion King Live in Concert fills the evening air at The Bowl at Sobeys Stadium on September 13! Now, you can be transported by the Oscar®-winning music of Hans Zimmer as his score is performed live in full, alongside the film’s action. The symphonic score also features unforgettable songs by the legendary Elton John with lyrics by Tim Rice, along with heartwarming vocal and choir arrangements by renowned African composer Lebo M.
In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Lion King”, a future king is born. The lion cub, Simba, idolizes his father, Mufasa, and therefore embraces his royal destiny. However, Mufasa’s brother Scar — the former heir — does not celebrate the new cub’s arrival, and concocts fiendish plans with the gang of hyenas. When Simba tragically loses the battle for Pride Rock and is exiled, Simba learns the true meaning of “Hakuna Matata” from a curious pair of newfound friends named Pumbaa and Timon. Then, with his long-lost friend Nala by his side, Simba faces his past and takes back his rightful position as leader and king.
