Attention, Thornhill families! Are your kids looking to do something different this summer? Instead of the usual summer camp experience, they can have a delectably sweet and unforgettable time at Chocolate Tales Summer Camp! This day camp teaches campers to create yummy treats while also having fun and building social skills with their peers. Meanwhile, kids feel empowered and gain confidence in the kitchen as they learn the art of chocolate-making and baking. Not to worry if your child does not have prior baking or chocolate-making experience because everyone is welcome to join in the chocolatey fun!

Even better, the campers get out outside each day and enjoy the beautiful summer weather to ensure they aren’t cooped up in the kitchen all day. The kids participate in outdoor games to get them moving and work up their appetites! As a special treat, the kids also learn the art of making pizza to cap off the week. They bake them from scratch for an extra satisfying experience, including mixing and kneading the dough and choosing their toppings.

Chocolate Tales summer camp facilities in Thornhill and Hamilton are both peanut-free, tree-nut-free, and sesame-seed-free. Their programs are taught by trained facilitators with extensive experience running summer camps for children aged 7-12. All coaches have CPR & First Aid training certificates so classes can run safely and smoothly. Naturally, safety is paramount!

Chocolate Tales Summer Camp (Ages 7-12)

With a new location in Thornhill, families can enrol their little bakers and chocolatiers at weekly fun-filled summer camps hosted by Chocolate Tales, filled with chocolate and baking activities! These programs let kids get hands-on experience so they feel more comfortable in the kitchen by creating and decorating their chocolate treats.

Become a Baker

Calling all aspiring bakers of Thornhill! This baking camp week is just what young people need to take their baking skills to the next level. Kids can indulge their sweet tooth and learn new techniques that will surely impress family and friends.

With help from the expert staff who guide the participants through the process step by step, kids also learn the art of cake decorating. This includes everything from piping frosting to decorating with fondant so they can create stunning designs that will impress everyone.

Campers also learn how to make impressive desserts, such as adorable cake pops, decadent lava cakes and delicate French macarons that will have their taste buds exploding with delight.

Become a Chocolatier

During this camp, Thornhill kids can stimulate both their taste buds and their creativity through a wide variety of activities. First off, they get to decorate their own aprons to wear as they make all sorts of tasty chocolate treats. Getting messy is part of the fun, after all!

Next, campers learn about the different types of chocolate and discover the skills to use them in new and fun ways before learning how to mould with chocolate. Lastly, they find out how to master the art of tempering chocolate for their delicious treats, along with making the perfect ganache to use as a filling.

Become a Chocolate Maker

In this camp held in Thornhill and Hamilton, campers go on a chocolate-filled adventure and explore what goes into crafting bean-to-bar chocolate. Participants also learn how to make chocolate bark, which can be customized with all sorts of toppings. This process includes selecting the perfect beans, roasting the beans and the special mixing (conching) that creates the chocolate’s perfect consistency.

Additionally, the budding chocolatiers make chocolate truffles, filled with delectable fillings and topped with stunning decorations. Then, the kids sculpt with chocolate for a creative twist to traditional chocolate-making and create edible works of art that are almost too beautiful to eat!

  • Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm
  • Early Drop-Off: 8:30am
  • Late Pickup: 4:30pm

Fees: 

  • Thornhill: $475 per child per week
  • Hamilton: $450 per child per week
  • Family Discount: $25 discount per week for a second child from the same family

Camp Meals:

  • Campers bring their own nut-free snacks and lunch Monday-Thursday
  • On Friday, a pizza lunch is provided!
