Markham School of Dance Summer Camps Get Kids Moving!

Get your kids off the couch and onto the dance floor this summer at Markham School of Dance! Their 2023 Summer Dance Campalooza offers either a half-day option for dancers aged 4+ and a full-day camp for those aged 6+. No matter which option you choose, each week-long camp includes learning a new daily dance routine, further dance games, plus a daily camp craft activity. Furthermore, there’s also an exciting Summer Dance Intensive program for more experienced dancers looking to expand their repertoire.

Markham School of Dance is where “every ‘body’ can dance” and gain the benefits of dance and performance education. These active and fun-filled summer camps are an inclusive dance experience where students are both encouraged and motivated. Classes and activities build confidence and performance skills in their students while instilling the values of “inclusion, family and community.” Not to mention, kids get to make new friends and get plenty of physical activity too!

2023 Summer Dance Campalooza

At Markham School of Dance’s summer dance camps, kids learn a variety of dance styles with the weekly theme, including Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, and Musical Theatre. Classes consist of warm-ups and stretches, technique lessons, a daily craft activity, and drama and dance games. Students learn different choreographies as they delve into the wonderful world of dance. Then, at the end of the session, there is even a special showcase for parents!

Week 4 — July 24-28, 2023
Week 5 — July 31-August 4, 2023
Week 6 — August 7-11, 2023

Week 8 — August 21-25, 2023

Half-day Camp — Ages 4+
Time: Monday-Friday 9:00-11:45am
Price: $175 per week per person (+ 13% GST)

Full-day Camp — Ages 6+
Time: Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:00pm
Price: $275 per week per person (+ 13% GST)

2023 Summer Dance Intensives

Markham School of Dance’s Summer Dance Intensives are the perfect way for your dancer to thrive during the summer months. Students increase their flexibility, work on their technique and learn new dance moves and choreography. Meanwhile, campers learn a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop and Musical Theatre. Of course, they also have fun and make lasting friendships with teammates! There is also an in-studio performance at the end of each camp week.

Note: To attend a Dance Intensive, dancers must attend at least three hours a week of class during the year or be invited to join by a teacher.

July 10-14, 2023 — Junior Intensive for Grades 2-6
July 17 -21, 2023 — Intensive for Grades 7-12
August 7-11, 2023 — Ballet Intensive for Grades 2-5
August 14-18, 2023 — Ballet Intensive for Grades 6+
August 21-25, 2023 — Musical Theatre for Grades 2-12
(Camps are placed by the school grades the student will attend in Fall 2023)
