Puppet Festival Mississauga presented by Crane Creations Theatre Co., is a puppetry and animation festival held over March Break with a variety of performances available for all ages and families to enjoy! This week-long festival presents puppet shows from Canada and around the world at various locations around Mississauga.

  • Under the Stars — A Fairy Tale Puppet Show (Special presentation with Mississauga at the Living Arts Centre and saugaLive, may not be eligible for promotions offered by Puppet Festival Mississauga and Crane Creations Theatre Company.)

    Under the Stars is an imaginative retelling of the classic tale Hansel and Gretel, first published by the Brothers Grimm.
  • Om Kolthoum (Roaming) — A Puppet Show From Egypt

  • Caminando & Avlando — A Puppet Show On A Bus

  • Paper Cut — A Film Noir Puppet Show

    Escape to the 1940s for inventive object theatre with film-noir glamour in Paper Cut, a surreal and unforgettable performance.
  • Woods — A Puppet Show for Young Kids

    Step into a world where ordinary pieces of wood transform into hilarious and mysterious creatures right before your eyes.
  • Good Night! — A Bed Time Puppet Show 
    Date: March 19 & 22, 2026
    It’s late and it’s time to go to bed, but sleep is the last thing on our minds! See what happens when the bed is uncomfortable, the pillow has a mind of its own, the blanket is too short, the pyjamas run away, and the comforter decides to fly.
  • Cartas Del Abuelo — A Puppet Show From Mexico

    Created and performed by Factor Teatro, Cartas del Abuelo is a one-person show that explores the abandonment and loneliness seniors face.
  • The Samurai’s Daughter — A String Marionette Puppet Show
    Date: March 20-21, 2026
    This heart-warming theatrical adventure is inspired by the Japanese folktale “Hime with the Big Hat”, with Japanese culture and traditional performance techniques.
