Fort York — Family Day Fun at Fort York

Try your skills at historic baking and cooking, learn about education in the early 1800s at the drop-in schoolroom activities as well as the role of Black Canadians in the War of 1812, witness a musket demonstration, and tour this fascinating piece of Toronto history.

Gibson House Museum — Family Day Weekend

Family-friendly activities at this historic home include weaving, games, and guided tours. Then, visit a photo exhibit celebrating Black History Month, and black citizens of North York and Toronto.

Montgomery’s Inn — Family Day Weekend Storytelling at Montgomery’s Inn

Montgomery’s Inn’s Family Day weekend features storytelling programming over days by Kesha Christie and Nadia Hohn, presenting Anansi storytelling and African and Caribbean folktales Plus, there’s also hands-on craft activities and a free book for kids to take home!

Scarborough Museum — Family Day at Scarborough Museum

Visitors of all ages can tour the first floor of this historic house all weekend, all enriched with special content that celebrates people within Black Toronto and the Canadian diaspora, then craft a zine that reflects your own identity.

Todmorden Mills — Family Day Weekend at Todmorden Mills
Celebrate Black History Month at Todmorden Mills in the Don Valley, connecting with Toronto’s local Black History, enjoy light refreshments and making crafts. You can also join enhanced tours of the historic houses, highlighting local Black history
