Spend March Break at Toronto History Museums to learn more about our city and enjoy a variety of arts and cultural opportunities. Most events are free, including drop-in play, exhibits, live performances, and creative classes for all ages.

Assembly Hall

March Break – A Puppet Show for the Whole Family ($)

WeeFestival presents “Old Man and the River” a heartwarming and hilarious tale for children by Lynda Hill and Thomas Morgan Jones, performed without words using artful tabletop puppetry and evocative music. Children under 3 years are free, but must be on the lap of their grownup/caregiver.

Colborne Lodge

Gather for March Break Fun at Colborne Lodge

At this family-friendly March Break extravaganza at Colborne Lodge, including drop-in crafts, daily Indigenous-led tours of High Park, and daily guided tours of the historic home of Jemima and John Howard.

Fort York National Historic Site

Hang out at Fort York this March Break for a week of family fun, with schoolroom activities, musket demonstrations and tours to learn about the fort’s fascinating history.

Gather for March Break at Fort York: Children’s Baking Workshop ($)

Children 6-12 years old can roll up their sleeves in the 1826 Officers’ Mess Kitchen to make a recipe from an 1831 Canadian cookbook: buttery sugar and spice-coated biscuits called Jumbles!

Historic Baking Workshop at Gibson House ($)

All ages are welcome to participate in a family-friendly hands-on baking workshop in the historic kitchen at Gibson House with a wood fire.

Mackenzie House

Gather for March Break: Print a Postcard at Mackenzie House

Explore hands-on activities and print a customized postcard on the historic press, then decorate a model paper house and discover surprise objects in the mystery boxes through touch-based play.

Montgomery’s Inn

Gather for March Break: Create a Community and Historic Cookbook at Montgomery’s Inn

Help craft a community cookbook and blend your favourite family recipes with historic dishes. In addition, visitors can explore the historic house and discover objects that tell the story of food traditions through time.

Gather for Cookie Decorating at the Historic Montgomery’s Inn ($)

At this fun cookie decorating class, bring your imagination along with your sweet tooth to decorate cookies made from a historic recipe. All ages are welcome, but a ticket holding adult must accompany children 16 years of age and younger.

Family-Friendly Yoga – Gather for March Break at Scarborough Museum

Get refreshed at a yoga session at Scarborough Museum, with Yoga mats provided. Appropriate for all experience levels and abilities, flex your body and mind as instructor Aruna leads the group through family-friendly exercises.

Spadina Museum

Gather for March Break at Spadina Museum: The Great Tea Cup Transfer
Date: March 14-22, 2026
Time: Tours depart at 11:15 AM, 12:15 PM, 1:15 PM, 2:15 PM & 3:00 PM
Pass your extra teacups on to a new home in a weeklong Take & Trade Table. Then, create a custom tea bag from a curated selection of tea leaves, herbs, spices and natural flavourings and take a guided tour of the historic house, keep an eye out for the tiny (toy) mouse hidden in every room!

Todmorden Mills

March Break at Todmorden Mills

Todmorden Mills lets you explore the Don Valley through guided walks and hands‑on craft workshops inspired by the natural landscape and the history of the paper mill, plus special pop‑ups from Riverdale Farm.
