Bata Shoe Museum Launches Figure Skating Exhibition on Family Day

The Bata Shoe Museum celebrates the history of figure skating on Family Day with the launch of their new online exhibition “Boots & Blades: The Story of Canadian Figure Skating”. In person at the museum, you can see some historic skates in the Behind the Scenes gallery, make a fun skate craft, try on funky footwear and play ISpy in the galleries.

In the online exhibition “Boots & Blades: The Story of Canadian Figure Skating”, explore the artistry and athleticism of figure skating from its early beginnings to today. Discover how figure skating has evolved through its boots and blades, costume and music, and more!
