Every year, Greater Toronto Area families look forward to making the yearly springtime pilgrimage to the Cirque du Soleil Big Top on the shores of Lake Ontario. Now it’s time for audiences to be mesmerized once again by the spectacular circus acts and bold visuals of Cirque du Soleil with their 20th show, ECHO! As with their previous creations, this groundbreaking show features their signature contemporary aesthetic, performed by talented acrobats and musicians at the top of their game.

Cirque du Soleil ECHO invites audiences to journey into an otherworldly environment of wonder, wild colour and endless possibilities. The performance is a visual celebration, including vibrant and memorable characters, abstract and contemporary costumes, as well as astounding lighting and projections. Naturally, it also features never-before-seen acrobatics! Along with the unique aesthetic that Cirque du Soleil is known for, ECHO marks the first time their show is accentuated by six live vocalists singing through most of the performance.

With a wide-ranging cast of 52 performers, Cirque du Soleil still manages to surprise audiences with a show that explores the delicate balance between humans, animals and our shared world. According to Author-Director Mukhtar Omar Sharif Mukhtar, “ECHO is about connecting everybody together and working together to create the world we want to live in. It’s not just a concept. It’s something I truly believe in.”

ECHO Brings Fresh and Unexpected Twists to its Big Top Magic!

With themes about the special connection between humans and the animal kingdom, Cirque du Soleil ECHO surprises and astounds audiences young and old. ECHO immerses the viewer in its universe of colours and wonders through themes of inventiveness, hope and empathy. Driven by the spirit of collaboration, Cirque du Soleil ECHO explores the sacred bond between living beings and nature.

The story follows an inquisitive young woman named FUTURE. As she and her best friend EWAI wander into a fantasy world and encounter a mysterious CUBE, they begin a journey of life, discovery, and empathy. Quickly, they learn that their actions hold the power to shape this world. Then, little by little, they join forces to rebuild their planet.

Beautifully, ECHO blends this story with an amazingly wide range of acrobatic performances. These all take place on, in, around, or throughout the mystic CUBE. These acts include bungee straps, banquine, icarian games, double hair suspension, slackwire and triple teeterboards!
