Do your kids love being outside and going on adventures? Evergreen lets them enjoy unique outdoor experiences in the city with their daytime March Break Camp in Toronto’s beautiful Don Valley. Here, they can discover the sights and sounds of the changing seasons over a full week of muddy boots, campfire stories and outdoor fun at Evergreen Brick Works!

This national not-for-profit is dedicated to making cities flourish, offering children the chance to explore Toronto’s forests and ravines. Campers are grouped together with other kids in their age range — Junior Explorers (Ages 6-7), Intermediate Explorers (Ages 8-9) and Senior Explorers (Ages 10-12) — so they can have the most fun experience possible. Not only can the campers go on adventures in the snowy valley to discover the wild side of nature in the winter, but they can also unearth stories, track animals, play in the snow and ice, and develop new friendships.

These winter day camps focus on outdoor play to activate the body and engage the mind as the participants make new discoveries in Toronto’s urban wild. For example, kids learn about winter outdoor survival strategies, build fires and structures, splash in muddy puddles, make crafts using natural materials, tell stories, and sing songs around the campfire.

Kids Can Take a Break from Screens and Get Back to Nature at Evergreen March Break Camps!

Tucked away in the Don Valley between Downtown Toronto and the Danforth/East York area, Evergreen Brick Works is the epitome of a Toronto “hidden gem”! Even though it is easy to access and conveniently located, it also feels like you’ve escaped the big city. So, join Evergreen in the valley to venture out into nature, because there’s no need to travel out of the city to find spectacular scenery and natural adventures.

In these camps, the participants can experience the end of winter and the arrival of spring. The young campers spend their days exploring the snowcapped trails of the Don Valley, as well as the icy frozen ponds at the Brick Works. The groups can also hike their way up the Beltline trail, observe the slow return of migratory birds, and craft with natural and art materials in the Bricks and Bites Kitchen.
