Jardin Infantil Academy Summer Camps let kids aged 4-12 enjoy the great outdoors all summer, all while staying in the city! Not only does their unique forest school experience let the campers appreciate nature, but the programs also feature a multilingual environment in Spanish and French. Both of these features have numerous positive effects on kids’ brain stimulation and development. Each day, the kids go home with messy hands and bright smiles!

These summer camps provide a safe, happy and inclusive space where the children explore and grow while playing freely in the fresh air. There are six distinct camp streams to choose from, including Nature, Cooking, Art, Drama, Multi-Sports, and Go with the Flow. Even better, Jardin Infantil Academy’s camps take place outdoors at High Park and on field trips around Toronto.

Jardin Infantil Academy Summer Camps

At Jardin Infantil Academy Summer Camps, kids learn through fun! This small, family-owned childhood education program focuses on enriching kids’ lives through outdoor learning opportunities to foster a lifelong love for the environment. With a hands-on approach to education in a natural setting, daily activities include tie-dyeing T-shirts, going on archeological adventures and treasure hunts, making and enjoying Mexican quesadillas, writing and performing skits, singing and dancing, and much more!

In summer, the children spend so much time outside that you can drop off and pick up your child directly inside High Park! In inclement weather, Jardin Infantil Academy has a nearby indoor space on Bloor Street West where the campers can enjoy fun indoor activities or go on field trips to an indoor destination. Throughout the camp week, dedicated counsellors guide the children by demonstrating skills and encouraging participation in a safe environment.

Nature Camp

Being in nature has numerous benefits for everyone, but especially children! Each week in the summer, the Toronto Nature Camp program lets children discover nature in limited group sizes in a friendly and non-competitive environment. The campers immerse themselves in nature at the spectacular High Park, such as exploring the many parklands, marshes, creeks, forests and gardens. In addition, the Nature Camp groups go on urban voyages, where they visit natural and educational destinations around Toronto, including Riverdale Farm, Toronto Water Tours, Toronto Botanical Gardens, Art Gallery of Ontario and more.

Cooking Camp

This cooking camp is ideal for aspiring chefs and little foodies aged 5-10! Unlike the Nature Camp, this camp spends half of the day indoors, working hard in a real kitchen. The budding chefs explore the world through food, learning about multicultural cuisines and cultures. What’s more, the campers even learn to speak the language of the dish’s country of origin. Aprons, chef hats and disposable gloves are provided for the chefs-in-training to wear during the lessons. There are also meatless options for each dish for vegan and vegetarian campers. Don’t forget to bring a reusable food container to bring home leftovers!

Art Camp

Jardin Infantil Academy’s summer art camp provides an atmosphere that nourishes the kids’ creative and emotional expression. Explores a different theme each week and using a variety of paints, mixed media and recycling materials, the young artists have a blast making art in the mornings and then enjoying fun activities outdoors in the afternoons! This art camp gives campers the freedom to discover and nurture their creative passions in an imaginative environment.

Drama Camp

Are your artistic children looking for a dynamic and positive theatrical experience in a fun and inclusive atmosphere? The Jardin Infantil Academy Drama Camp includes activities that entice the young actors to express their emotions through characters, music and dance. This contemporary curriculum enthusiastically taps into the kids’ hearts and minds while fostering self-awareness, team-building, critical thinking, self-esteem and personal growth. With the drama program taking place in the inspirational natural surroundings (weather permitting), creative activities include theatre games, mime, improvisation, stagecraft, dance and singing, role-playing, storytelling, mask, comedy, scriptwriting and even weekly performances!

Multi-Sports Camp

Game on! At Jardin Infantil Academy, campers gain confidence and resilience through fun and inclusive outdoor programs. This multi-sport camp helps kids stay active in a fun, stress-free and non-competitive setting. Morning games and activities include soccer, basketball, tag, dodgeball and tug-of-war. Plus, the campers get to cool off in the afternoons with water play! Throughout the various activities, the campers develop their physical endurance, speed, agility and coordination, along with personal development such as strategic thinking and teamwork.

Go With the Flow Camp

For participants who prefer a bit more time to move from one activity to another, the Go With the Flow Camp helps kids spend time outdoors in a relaxed and educational setting that is lots of fun! Nature has been proven to have a positive effect on all children, with benefits including improved attention, lower stress, and increased empathy and cooperation. In this camp, campers read and sing songs in the woods, join art therapy lessons on a grassy field, perform a drama skit by the pond and explore the water flow in the creeks. Meanwhile, Jardin Infantil Academy’s highly trained staff embrace each child’s uniqueness and discretely guide each child through the daily program, while deriving fun and enjoyment from every activity.
