If your kids are fans of the “beautiful game” of soccer, they should check out the many exciting Summer Program options at North Toronto Soccer! With Summer Camps, Recreational League, and Soccer Academy, this community group proudly unites local kids and teens through sport.

At North Toronto Soccer, kids can make lasting memories on and off the field this summer! They offer programs for young athletes aged 4 to 16, so they can learn important soccer skills and take part in this fun environment at any level. In fact, there is no need for parents to worry about their child’s level of experience or ability because North Toronto Soccer’s coaches work to match each player’s skill set with peers to get them motivated. In addition, kids can feel safe to express themselves and develop at their own pace! Even as the participants make mistakes, the coaches are aware that this is all part of the learning process.

North Toronto Soccer — Summer Camps (Ages 4-12)

At North Toronto Soccer’s soccer camps, kids get a kick out of summer! Over their nine one-week camps, their top-notch coaches introduce kids to soccer in a fun and safe environment. Better yet, regardless of soccer skill or experience level, all players aged 4-12 are welcome.

For the youngest participants, summer camp programs run in the mornings only. In addition to the camps’ soccer instruction, the coaches make sure all the kids get to play and laugh, learn together and make new friends. Therefore, each camp program features a combination of park time, structured time and free time, and of course, plenty of soccer!

Throughout their soccer journey, each participant learns about teamwork and sportsmanship while enjoying an active lifestyle. To build their skills and confidence, the young athletes develop their game through structured small-sided games. As the lessons progress and the kids get older, the schedules get more involved to keep the players busy. The morning sessions include organized instructional activities, along with extra time to play different sports and games. In addition, full-day campers get to spend time at the outdoor community pool for a supervised free swim time to cool off and refresh!

Level Programs:

  • Ages 4-5 (Mornings Only)
  • Ages 6-8 (Full-Day or Half-Day)
  • Ages 9-12 (Full-Day or Half-Day)

Summer Recreation League (Ages 4-16)

North Toronto Soccer also runs a weekly Summer Recreation Program over the summer, providing a fun and safe team-based environment where kids love to play soccer. Dividing participants into age groups/genders to encourage fun and maximize development, sessions run once a week for one hour. With a consistent schedule, participants are able to maintain an active lifestyle and build social connections.

In each level, players learn the game of soccer in an age-appropriate and non-competitive environment. With a curriculum focusing on physical literacy and motor skills, young soccer lovers can practice their individual techniques, such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. At the higher levels, the teams play against a different squad in every session. This creates a balanced competition level to maximize the active experience for players. Then, in September, the groups enjoy an end-of-season Festival!

North Toronto Soccer Summer Academy (Ages 7-13+)

Located at Eglinton Park, the North Toronto Nitros Academy is the perfect place for experienced players to become better athletes! Over the summer, players get to know the Nitros staff and learn about the North Toronto Soccer programs. Passing along their professionalism and confidence, the excellent coaches teach lessons featuring in-depth soccer skills, techniques and tactics.

Participating in scrimmages, the players develop their skills in an unstructured and relaxed environment. Along with academy sessions specific to age groups that focus on soccer training and multi-sport opportunities, there are position-specific programs including weeks for Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders or Forwards. In these sessions, players work on techniques for different positions to maximize their development.

U8-U12 and U13+ players alternate days during Goalkeeper Week, so the staff can work intensively with each group. Resting between lessons, players work on further soccer skills on off-days to ensure they get a balanced mix of instruction, development and fun.

Programs include:

  • U7-U12 Academy
  • U13+ Academy
  • Goalkeeper Week
  • Position-Specific Week
