The best way to build community is to join together to support a cause greater than ourselves. On Sunday, August 13th, bring your friends and family together at the Run for Palestine event for a 1km or 5km run or walk through beautiful Budapest Park to support those who need it the most. The event is stroller and wheelchair-friendly; all ages and abilities are welcome.
Run for Palestine is a not-for-profit organization that began in 2009 right here in Toronto to fund humanitarian projects in Palestine and promote healthy and active living, diversity and respect for the environment. Since its inception, Run for Palestine has expanded to other major Canadian cities and in 2022 alone, raised $166, 802 for supplies, medical equipment, and furniture at the Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, a location that has seen its share of destruction on the Gaza Strip.
This year marks the 12th Annual Charity Run and promises to be a family-oriented, fun-filled day that brings together all members of the community for a common goal. In 2023, Run for Palestine is partnering with Islamic Relief Canada to support the neonatal unit at the Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem. All money raised will go towards building the capacity of the neonatal unit to ensure a brighter future for newborns through providing essential neonatal equipment, medicine, supplies, and necessary neonatal training for medical professionals through in-person and online workshops.
Participants will enjoy a full day of activities, food, and of course, fun at this inclusive event. Registration begins at 9 am and runs until 10:15, followed by the run/walk at 11:00 am. Entertainment begins at 2:00 pm and goes on until the end of the event.
