For just two weeks in July, kids can go on a weeklong journey through music, culture, and creativity when Small World Music hosts the Around the World Music Camp! Held at Small World Music Centre near Trinity Bellwoods Park, campers aged 8-12 dive into different cultural regions each day, exploring a wide range of international sounds, rhythms, and creative traditions. More than a camp, it’s a fun, creative journey around the world!
This imaginative week includes music across many cultures and traditions, as well as the chance to collaborate with other children in a small-group setting that supports participation. As they hear traditional stories and create their own soundscapes throughout the week, they also explore movement and dance for a well-rounded artistic experience.
In this engaging music camp, kids learn songs and play musical games from around the world, and discover the joy of making music. Established global music artists teach the campers through hands-on workshops and visual art inspired by global traditions. Meanwhile, campers build their creative confidence and connect with new friends through creativity and play.
Give Your Child a Week of Cultural Expression This Summer at Around the World Music Camp!
For more than three decades, Small World Music has become known throughout the GTA for celebrating our local cultural diversity. While showcasing local, domestic, and international talent, they also strive to support newcomer professionals. Now, the next generation of Toronto’s arts community leaders can come together for week-long music and culture camps that balance creativity, learning, and collaboration.
In this hands-on camp, kids have fun exploring global musical traditions through the arts, all guided by professional artists and educators. Each week is a complete experience, including music, movement, storytelling, and visual art. With a clear weekly structure in a supportive and playful environment, the exciting week concludes with an end-of-week presentation for family and friends!
Small World Music Summer Camp — Weekly Schedule
Day 1 — Land, Rhythm & Song: Latin America
Around the World Music Camp kicks things off in vibrant rhythms, movement, and storytelling inspired by Latin America! With body percussion exercises, high-energy games and playtime, campers explore how music can connect people through celebration, nature, and community.
Day 2 — Strings and Stories: West Asia
Next, the rhythm slows down and leans into melody, expression, and storytelling to learn about the musical traditions of West Asia. Through songs, patterns, and playful storytelling, the campers discover how music carries emotion, history, and meaning.
Day 3 — Rhythm Lab: Africa
Campers can groove together as they dive into drumming, call-and-response, and movement, experiencing music as a shared community practice. In these activities, kids build coordination and confidence while connecting through group music-making.
Day 4 — Lantern Sound Garden: South & East Asia
In this soft and exploratory day, the camp enters a world of delicate melodies, sound textures, musical instruments, and storytelling traditions. Exploring instruments, soundscapes, and visual art, imagination blooms while the campers create their own “sound gardens”.
Day 5 — Creation & Jam
At the end of the week, it’s time to bring it all together! This collaborative day of music-making, creativity, and sharing ends with a creative show for parents and friends! This is the perfect opportunity for campers to collaborate, create, and showcase everything they have learned throughout the week. It’s a joyful sharing moment for families, that is part performance, part celebration, and all heart!

Daily Camp Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Drop-off is between 8:45 AM – 9:00 AM, and pick-up is between 3:45 PM – 4:00 PM
Pricing: $400 per camper per week
Extended Care: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM, 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
+$75 for extended care per week
Food and Snacks: Lunch is not provided. Campers should bring their own food each day, as well as nut-free snacks.
